Nine celebrities including Chris Moyles and Cheryl Cole lead by Gary Barlow, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief and raised over £3,000,000! You could be following in their footsteps by taking part in the WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) Kilimanjaro Challenge 2009! Below is a video of the climbers on last year’s expedition. If you saw the Comic Relief documentary of the climb last week, you will instantly recognise most of the locations in the film.

As well as taking on Africa’s highest mountain at 5,895 metres, you will also get the opportunity to meet with a WSPA funded project and learn about their work. The trek on the quiet Machame route which takes 6 days and although no previous climbing experience is necessary, the trek is challenging and you need to be physically fit.
