The Forever Story is a brand new site aimed to at helping to raise money for TreeHouse. The idea of the site is for a story to be written by many different authors in order for it become the world’s longest collectively-written story. The opening 35 words have been contributed by Nick Hornby who starts off The Forever Story with:

“For the first nineteen years of his life, Johnny Razor wasn’t Johnny Razor at all. He was Malcolm Weatherly, and he was born in Mile End Underground station on the night of 17th September 1940.”

How will the story continue? You decide!

Forever Story

For every single contribution to the story via the website, £1 will be donated to Treehouse, the charity that helps children with Autism. The more people who join in, the longer the story will be, and the more money will be raised.

Watch Your Own Heart Attack With The BHF

The British Heart Foundation have launched a new TV ad campaign entitled “Watch Your Own Heart Attack”. This disturbing film shows how to recognise the symtoms of a heart attack from a first hand experience. It features Steven Berkoff and pulls no punches in explaining things. In fact Berkoff is decidedly creepy with his monologue and this makes the viewer pay even more attention to what he’s saying.

This is exactly how it should be and everyone should watch this film – simply because it could save someone’s life or even your own.

More details can be found at 2 Minutes, the official BHF Heart Attack promotional site.

To support the work of The BHF you can visit their donation & shop site.

Harry Potter fans are rejoincing with the news that JK Rowling’s Beedle the Bard book is being released for sale. Originally thought to be a special publication the book containing five fairy tales, which Amazon managed to get hold of, is now going to be made available to all – and the good news is that net proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to The Children’s Voice campaign.

This is no doubt going to be a huge hit for Christmas!

Amazon are already taking preorders for a standard edition of the book that features all five fairy tales from the original The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a new introduction by J.K. Rowling, illustrations reproduced from the original handcrafted book and a commentary on each of the tales by Professor Albus Dumbledore.

For die hard Harry Potter fans there’s also a special edition featuring an exclusive reproduction of J.K. Rowling’s handwritten introduction, 10 new illustrations, metalwork and clasp, replica gemstones, and tucked in its own case disguised as a wizarding textbook from the Hogwarts library. This is only available from Amazon and costs £50 (of which around £20 will go to charity).

World Vision Launch Dirty Water Campaign

World Vision has produced a hard hitting viral to emphasise the fundamental importance of clean water for daily life, sanitation and hygiene and how 1.1 billion people worldwide are without this basic human need.

The film has taken the seeming normality of a BT-style family scene and subverted it to play out a nightmare scenario. It’s a developing world issue transplanted to a first world context with a horrifying conclusion..

Today 1.1 billion will have no choice but to drink dirty water. Thanks to an accident of birth, you’re not one of them.

But what if you were?
