Volunteers are an essential part of a charity’s work and without them, a good many would not be able to survive. As the current economic climate remains grim, with less grants and funding being awarded to charities as well as public donations decreasing, the volunteer worker has never been so essential to a charity’s survival.

However, could the same economical climate be putting people off becoming a volunteer, as time working needs to be paid work to make ends meet? Want to work for your favourite charity, but can’t afford to take a cut in wages? This is where Vodafone can help!

Vodafone are giving you the chance to get a two month paid placement at a charity of your choice in the UK in their World of Difference 2009 scheme which is run by the Vodafone Foundation registered charity no. 1089625.

Here’s a video from Lewis Hamilton explaining the World of Difference programme.

To apply, send in your details along with the charity you would like to work for. You will also need to contact your nominated charity to discuss your placement. If you are successful, the Vodafone Foundation will pay the charity you choose to work with £2500. You will receive the balance left after the charity has paid all National Insurance and Tax contributions for your placement. Vodafome will also provide you with a new mobile phone, with a preloaded SIM card, so you can keep them up to date with your placement.

You must apply before the closing date of the 3rd of November! For more information click here
