Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres provide free support to all those affected by cancer including patients, carers, families and friends. Every centre is built beside an NHS cancer hospital which means they are easy to access whilst visiting the hospital. Each centre while close to the hospital is a completely separate building with an open plan design, with comfy chairs, interesting artwork and to make visitors feel even more at home, the kettle is always on!

Above is a video of Maggie’s MegaHikers as they go the distance on the UK’s ultimate 24hour team challenge to raise funds for the centres. Blimey – they’re more than a bit brave doing that walk!

Cancer specialists are on hand to provide information and support including benefits advice, nutritional workshops, psychological support both individually and in groups, courses and stress reducing strategies. The centre also offers the opportunity to meet people going through similar experiences. You don’t have to make an appointment, or be referred and everything they offer is free of charge.

Maggie’s Centres aim to raise £15 million in their Joy of Living Campaign for their five new centres based at major cancer hospitals throughout the UK at Churchill Hospital Oxford, Cheltenham General Hospital, Singleton Hospital Swansea, City Hospital Nottingham and Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.
