Occasionally when we’re updating competitions over on Loquax we come across a charity related promotion that’s worth a mention here on Donate To. Many people like the idea of raising money for charity but time, and perhaps even the credit crunch, means it’s not always that easy. Well, help is at hand from Chinasearch, a china and tableware supplier.

They are running a High Tea Competition and they want your pictures or videos of you enjoying high tea in a daring place. The person with the most daring location will win themselves a £100 voucher to spend at Chinasearch, but more importantly £100 for their favourite charity.

If you’re thinking “I don’t have anywhere daring to enjoy High Tea” don’t worry – still enter a photo, even if it’s just you and the kids having a picnic! For every entry Chinasearch get they’ll be offering a £1 donation to Macmillan up to a maximum of £100. A little bit of your time means a donation goes to Macmillan.

The competition runs until the 31st October and you can follow the entries by becoming a fan of Chinasearch on Facebook.

Help Sta Travel Raise £25000 and Win a Trip of a Lifetime!

Sta Travel have launched a brand new competition offering entrants the chance to win a £10000 holiday of a lifetime. The aim of the competition is to raise £25000 for charity and for that reason entry costs £2. You even get to choose which charity you’d like to donate to!

Among the charities potentially benefiting from this initiative are The British Heart Foundation, PDSA, Shelter, Cancer Research, Barnados, Travel Foundation, The Terence Higgins Trust and The WSPA.

The entry fee is just £2 and is payable via Paypal. Only 50p of the entry fee goes to your selected charity and another 50p goes to the prize fund – where the other £1 goes is not clear. It should also be noted that the prize fund is 25% of competition entries received up to £1000 – so if there were 10000 entries the prize fund would be £5000.

A nice idea from Sta Travel but let’s see more of that entry fee going to charity!

Win a Fairtrade Chair at Ethical Superstore

The Ehtical Superstore are celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight by offering you the chance to win a fair trade Semarang Chair, worth £650, supplied by the Fair Trade Furniture Company. The winner can choose either a right or left handed chair, in either lime green, terracotta or white. To enter the competition all you have to do is tell The Ehtical Superstore what your favourite fairtrade product is and why. You have the 9th March to enter the prize draw.

To celebrate Chinese New Year Tiger Beer are inviting you to take part in an ancient tradition from the comfort of your computer. People in Hong Kong travel to the village of Lam Tseun to make a wish at the ancient Banyan Tree! The wishes are written on paper and tied to oranges, which are then thrown in to the tree. If your orange stays in the tree it’s thoguht your wish will come true.

Tiger Beer though have made it easier for you to take part in this tradition, and not only could you win 1 of 6 Apple Iphones you can help save China’s Tigers too. For each wish made, 10p will be donated by the promoter to ‘Save China’s Tigers’, up to a maximum of £1,000 throughout the duration of the promotional period.
