Take a Breakthrough Breast Cancer UK Trekking Challenge
Leave the first response May 14, 2009 / Posted in Breakthrough Breast CancerSummer is nearly here, the sun is out (well, it’s been above 10 degrees C for a few days!) so it’s time to get out and about and enjoy the beautiful British countryside and get some of that exercise the Government and carrot munchers keep nagging us all about.
Get fit and raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer at the same time by taking one of their UK Trekking Challenges (or you just have your head shaved as in the video below)! There are walks with 3 levels of difficulty, so there is something to suit most people, especially with a bit of training.
The Hadrian’s Wall Challenge which takes place from Friday 29th – Sunday 31st May is a 22 mile trek following in the footsteps of the Roman soldiers through some of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Snowdonia Mountain Challenge takes place over Friday 24th – Sunday 26th July and is a Boot Level 3 challenge (the hardest!) which involves climbing the highest mountain in England and Wales, Mount Snowdon. This is a 21 mile trek across rugged mountain terrain and not for the fainthearted!
If you sign up to one of these treks, there is an added bonus as Breakthrough Breast Cancer has teamed up with Virgin Active Gyms to offer all of of the 2009 UK Trekkers a free day gym pass and the top fundraiser a free six month gym membership. Click here for more information.
