During December BT are supporting Shelter with the aim to raise at least £100,000 for the charity’s youth campaign now in it’s 40th year. Theyre are doing this this year with the help of Doctor Who and Little Britain star Tom Baker.
Tom has returned as the voice of BT Text, but with a twist. They have turned Tom Baker into a virtual pop star by using his text-to-landline voice to record BT’s very own charity single for Christmas - “You Really Got Me” by Brit rockers The Kinks! This unusual musical mix was created by Dr Who fanatic Mark Murphy and is endorsed by Welsh rappers Goldie Lookin’ Chain.
All proceeds for the single’s download sales will go directly to Shelter.
BT also invite you to have a little bit of fun this Christmas. Text any UK landline from your mobile or home phone 2 and that telephone will ring with Tom Baker’s voice reading out your message – raising money for charity at the same time.
